  • Ingredients

    • 25g Butter.
    • ½ Cup Plain Flour.
    • 1 Litre Milk.
    • 1 teapsoon Chicken Stock Powder.
    • ¼ Brown Onion, peeled.
    • 2 cloves.
    • 2 Bay Leaves.

    Method

    • Melt Butter in a pot on low heat, then stir in flour, ensuring you mix constantly to aviod burning.
    • When mixture starts looking a little dry (like bread crumbs).
    • Add about 100ml of milk and whisk in until all is combined.
    • Add chicken stock powder, onion, cloves and bay leaves.
    • When it starts to thicken add more milk need to continously stir. Continue this step until all the milk has been stirred in.
    • Simmer for a further 5 minutes stirring continously.
    • Pour sauce through a strainer.
